Logistics Jobs Story - OPS Executive

Logistics Jobs Story - OPS Executive
WHAT IS DELIVERY?
Logistics also known as Operations (Operations) is a job in the import / export sector.
This location is often out. Therefore, it is more suitable for men than women. Your job is to deliver documents, pay taxes, go to ports, airports, two-way border crossings, courier documents and procedures for import-export enterprises, even work C / O, insurance, fumigation….

Many people say that this position does not have too many requirements for capacity and knowledge, but only diligence, hard work, doing a lot will get used to .... But in fact, without the capacity, without thinking, it will greatly affect the work.
Forwarding staff do not need much professional knowledge such as documents, customs declaration because handling work on documents has been drafted, but it is more important to know how to read documents, understand the process, responsible and careful because the forwarder is the person to contact and know the actual status of the goods more than the rest of the parts.
Most of this work is only done by men because of the time and the need for health and flexibility in daily operations.

THIS ISSUES WHEN DOING A DELIVERY
1. Belongs to google map
It was a field staff that had to stay out on the street often, regardless of weather because if the shipment is delayed, additional costs can be incurred. When doing this job, you must know the location of the shipping lines, ports, the addresses of partner companies, ... and the suitable addresses for forwarding to find the shortest way.

2. Regardless of the weather
No matter what the weather is, when the goods return or the goods go, even if you are far away, you still have to run across the street. There are cases of pouring rain, if you have to check the goods, you still have to run the shipment to work, hoping to get the goods on schedule for delivery to customers.

3.Many dangers lurk
When working at the port, there are many dangers such as occupational safety in the port, having to travel on the road with many large cars.In many cases, the customer urging, the boss urges, in a hurry, not paying attention, not being careful is risky ro can happen at any time. Then when running in the rain, rushing ... Therefore, no matter what, it is necessary to be careful.

4.Get familiar with many working environments
Forwarders often have to contact many different agencies, companies, such as: shipping lines, agents, banks, consulates, inspection agencies, state agencies ....
If you want to be fast, of course you have to get used to it. For example, when working with state agencies, people are often not too enthusiastic, so if you are a newbie without any guidance, it will take a lot of time when doing the procedures. Therefore, if you are a newcomer, you will ask where to go, observe people and learn to follow.

5. Must pay out-of-pocket due to errors
In many cases, the freight forwarder has to spend money to compensate for small errors such as forgetting documents, losing documents, filling in wrong information, ...
Just with small mistakes, you can lose up to a month's salary, but if you are faulty, the company will not support at all.
In this case, almost everyone new to work has met, to avoid losing money injustice, be careful that above all, one thing that you share with you is that no matter what, you should not rush, When you are in a hurry, you will forget, forget, you will give birth to all kinds of things. Second is not guessing, if not really sure, never do, have to ask the right information over and over, not be decided hurry .

6) Under a lot of pressure from many sides
Since handling time is the most important factor related to freight forwarding, the public pressure on those who do this work is extremely heavy. These include the commitment time to deliver goods to customers, storage time, appointment with the warehouse to prepare forklifts, unloading, loading and unloading, appointment with the garage to pick up the goods ...
Time is rushing, but the goods must be on time, not 1-2 shipments but many times many lots at the same time, both exported and imported ... so the pressure is higher, so the forwarder always suffers. pressure to keep working.

7.Long working time
The freight forwarder rarely has a concept of office hours, mainly when they finish their work, they can leave. There are days when the goods are finished early, then leave early, the procedure is finished, it is around noon, in the afternoon, but also the days until 8-9 pm, or even close the goods, the next morning.

8.Lack of "materials"
Normally, there are few deliverers who are white, the hands and feet are rough due to the frequent packing, the shirts are gray due to the sun, shoes, vehicles are worn out, the time is mostly walking and walking. Sitting on a motorbike, enjoying a lot of sunshine and wind in life, when I go to work, I get fit and go home, it is difficult to eat, miserable, sometimes skipping meals due to the rush. contact with pink balloons ... ..

9. Waiting is happiness
If you are a person in a hurry, you definitely cannot do this job. Besides waiting for your lover to make up, waiting for your mother to go shopping, waiting for you to finish school ... waiting for import and export is the most tiring wait!
When you go to get documents at the shipping company, at the bank, at the port business, at the airport ... or wait for your turn to apply for a C / O, go for inspection .. Tired yawns at the container yard, The quick naps waiting for the car to arrive or the times when it just wanted to get out of the rain to pick up the goods in time ... One thing to say, the courier's patience was "limitless"

SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION

1. Route arrangement skills
The first skill to mention that the delivery staff needs to do well is scheduling routes. A delivery worker who doesn't know how to arrange can sometimes make the job a thousand times more complicated.
During the working day, try to schedule a schedule of applications to be delivered. If you only have 1,2 applications, do not say what to do. However, if this number reaches tens, it is different. Plan a route for each location to reduce travel time, fuel costs .. Go to the nearest places or the same road first..you can all be proactive. receive items to arrange more applications. Besides, the shipping time is also a point you should keep in mind. Note to choose clear routes or avoid running hours to avoid traffic jams.

2. Commodity preservation skills
What product is delivered to you by the shop / company owner, you must ensure it is in the same condition when it arrives at the recipient. When delivering products that are deformed, distorted .., the rate of receipt is very low. No one will want a bad product !! Therefore, during the transportation process, the delivery staff must be very careful. Fragile goods need extra care.
Another note is that the delivery staff need to check the status of the goods before receiving the goods. If the item is distorted or broken, ask the shop owner to change or confirm with the customer in advance. If you do not inspect the goods, anything arising about the product will be solely your responsibility.

3. Communication skills
Delivery staff are like an ambassador of the business. If there is a bad attitude, it will make guests angry and uncomfortable. With many fastidious customers, they may be willing to swear or scold you. Worse is that they reflect with the company / store to fire you
Therefore, when working, you need to have a gentle and friendly attitude. If you have any problem such as traffic jam, late arrival .. please proactively call the recipient to have the best solution. Or more simply, give a big smile when handing over the item. Surely guests will feel happy and satisfied when you do so.

4. Skills to find the way
As a shipper, which means you will know and know all the way. Especially, when entering the profession, it is not easy. However, do not worry, everything will have its solution. If you don't know the way, find your way. Already have google map, worry! In some cases, google map will show you further, more winding roads. Your job is based on the available map to find yourself a convenient "to the destination" route. In short, the skill of finding the way is one of the most important skills that delivery staff need.
----------------------------------
Every job is hard, but it seems that compared to the positions in the industry, the delivery brothers are the hardest. Many readers, after finishing reading, wonder if it was so hard to stop working, quit working for a different position or even a different job. new difficulties get success.

The delivery profession is difficult, but it has trained you for a lot of good qualities that not any other profession in this society has. No matter where you are, you can do it. More than 80% of import-export business owners have been freight forwarders, documents workers, salesmen ...

Knowledge is needed by everyone, but it takes practical experience to get rich knowledge. Logistics too, though extremely, but in return we are very proud, because without this logistics profession, then the society or in other words the supply chain of goods will not be able to develop.

More than anyone, when you choose a delivery profession is how you choose to express and train yourself better

Therefore, if you ever love a deliverer, you must sympathize and love him a lot, because in order to achieve success, perhaps you have to try to attach more than other jobs in society.
