The response of logistics enterprises has partly helped businesses dealing in agricultural products and farmers reduce difficulties and losses.
Before the situation of the nCoV epidemic was still very complicated, all levels, sectors, localities, and enterprises were fiercely fighting to prevent and reduce the damage caused by the epidemic. In particular, distribution businesses, trade centers, supermarkets have also been actively involved in purchasing agricultural products for farmers to boost domestic consumption.
On February 5, 2020, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh signed Document No. 709 / BCT-XNK proposing Vietnam Logistics Association to recommend members and logistics enterprises to join hands. , supporting measures such as reducing warehousing costs, reducing transportation and loading and unloading fees for distribution businesses, trade centers, and supermarkets to increase the purchasing of agricultural products for farmers.
In the afternoon of 6/2/2020, at the 6th session of the National Steering Committee on ASEAN Single Window, National Single Window and Trade Facilitation (Committee of 1899) by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the Committee chaired, Mr. Le Duy Hiep, Chairman of Vietnam Association of Logistics Services Enterprises (VLA), said that he had received the document from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and agreed to mobilize the Association enterprises. Members reduce 10-20% of warehousing fees, especially cold storage, to support trade centers, supermarket systems to buy agricultural products for farmers.
Mr. Hiep said: "This is a practical action of logistics enterprises to support the efforts of the Government and the entire population in the prevention of epidemics. The Association's proposal was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and recognized the contribution of logistics enterprises in economic development.
In recent years, the growth rate of the logistics service industry in Vietnam has reached about 14-15%, reaching a market size of about 40-42 billion USD.
